The winning ticket in the record-setting $145 million Lotto Texas drawing was purchased at a gas station in El Paso, lottery officials said.
But the winner of Saturday’s drawing had not been identified as of Sunday afternoon.
The ticket was sold at a downtown El Paso Chevron station, the Texas Lottery Commission said. The gas station’s manager could not immediately be reached for comment, and a lottery spokeswoman did not return a telephone call on Sunday.
The winning numbers were 9-26-28-29-40 with a bonus ball of 16.
The winner elected to be paid in a lump sum when he or she bought the ticket. That means the ticket holder will get about half the jackpot, or $72.5 million in cash, minus 25 percent that is withheld for federal taxes, according to lottery officials.
The last jackpot winner came 32 drawings and nearly four months ago.
Lottery officials said before the drawing that the sheer sales volume meant the odds were good that there would be a winner Saturday.
The estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s Lotto Texas drawing is $4 million.
